Today, I wept.

Life dealt me a blow. 

My heart is broken .

Today I wept

for a boy who didn’t get home.

Today I wept

For a smile that is now a memory.

Today, I wept for the boy’s mum,

For the boy’s family,

For the boy’s friends.

Today, I wept for a lad, gone too soon!

Today, life gave me a reality check.

I must check on my kids,

I must check on my friends,

I must live more,

Sing more,

Dance more.

Be more present,

appreciate more.

Smile more ….

Love more….

Make memories.

Be present.

Alas!

Today I wept, but I’m alive….

for that, I am grateful.
